Nurturing a Love of Yoga
As I sort of mentioned in my last post, my vivacious and active daughter had come to hate Yoga. So we took almost a year off. Following my kids yoga training, which by the way blew my mind, I began introducing yoga games, just a little bit here and there. It worked like a charm! Today I want to share with you one of those games. I call it the Mirror game (it definitely needs a more creative name). I like to pick music that she enjoys, i.e. The Greatest Showman soundtrack. I usually let her go first, she gets us warmed up. So we place our mats directly facing each other and when the music starts she starts dancing and I try to mirror her as best I can. There are so many giggles on this one. Don't be surprised if your child leads you through some very silly movements, mine did. She loves it! It's very empowering for them and strengthens the bond between parent and child which in turn brings more peace to your home....
